Minimalism - one of the best ism out there

There’s so many ism out there, but usually they don’t end up well. Recently I got into a comment on Youtube under one of the video I was watching which was saying I don’t like minimalism cause it’s an ism. That sentence really got me thinking like, well it’s kind of weird, but yeah true in the same time cause we all know communism, fascism, socialism never ended well.

An ism usually indicating a kind of an overstatement. Let’s look at perfectionism, the overly done pursuit of being/doing perfect at something.

Minimalism is the only ism that I know, which does not harm ourselves in a way, instead helping to clear our mind, our thoughts, save us money and time, help us in terms of cleaning, a way of relief.

Can we become too minimalist? How does that look like?

In my humble opinion, we can definitely go overboard with minimalism too, we can just decide to get rid off stuff and buy new ones to fit to our new wanna be lifestyle, in a hipster kind of way. I guess ya’ll know what I mean by that. The type of people that want to follow a trend, want to be part of a community, getting rid of their stuff and by new ones just to look like the late Steve Jobs or in worse cases like the Instagram celebrities of this subculture or the Youtube preachers that I might become myself one day (won’t happen, but never say never), the type of people whom living in a type of home you usually see on perfect Instagram pictures or on Pinterest, having the capsule wardrobe with the black turtle necks and plain grey t-shirts in them.

Well, there’s another perspective to the minimalist way, I wouldn’t highlight it as “my way”, instead a way where we realize the stuff sourrounding us and we try to make the most out of those items, either by using them until we can or by selling them. The point is the sustainability and the refusal of consumerism, which is extremely hard and we never gonna make it to perfection, but we have to set the goal high up, sort to speak have to strive for it.

To my taste, definitely minimalism the best ism out there, since I began my journey, as far as I experienced a “never ending journey” where I can strive to better myself and my surroundings. Nothing is better than getting home to a clutter free place where we like every item and we have a purpose for them, nothing is better than always wearing our best clothes, where we don’t feel the pressure to find space for certain items, simply cause everything just fit in.

Describing this feeling might as fit in, our soul fit into our body, our life coming together like a puzzle, that’s how I experienced minimalism so far.

I am not sure if it’s for everybody, but if you ever felt like overwhelmed, found hard to relax, felt too stressed and don’t know what to do to stop that, give it a go. I guarantee you, you won’t lose nothing (except tons of useless gadgets and stuff what you thought gonna be useful at some point, but they really won't), give it a go and experience the ultimate relaxation, less worry what to wear, where to store, how to clean kind of matter.

The less is more, and seek minimalism which gives you than takes away.

Yours sincerely

To/Minimal
