The blog turned one year old

As the title says, the blog turned one year old, what a year it has been, lot’s of posts, even though for first I thought I will wirte more posts, I thought I will keep up more with social media, since I created the blog’s Instagram profile I haven’t posted much to be fair.

The picture on top of the title of this blog post is ain’t no coincidence, it’s there because we took on a long road together, me as a writer, who’s exposing his privacy more than ever and you as a so far mainly silent reader who might in the same shoes I was before, when I felt a bit lost in consumerism and did not find the purpose of life. Let’s keep on going on this journey together, might as a writer and a not so silent reader this time.

It was exactly one year ago when I started this blog about minimalism, my took on minimalism, simple living, sustainability and of course FIRE. I wanted to create this blog to track my change as an individual, see how I change my lifestyle and become a better person along the way. I definitely improved for good along the way.

Along the way I managed to declutter a large amount of stuff, took on the reading challenge, 2 books a month so as my new years resulution said 24 books by next 1st January, an update post will come about that later on, the challenge goes pretty good to be honest, simplified my lifestyle, became more healthy, more sustainable and definitely more environmentally conscious than ever before.

Was the blog a success? I’d say so Yes, Yes and YES. Many things happened since I got into this, I grew as a professional at work, got promoted recently working as a Community Manager for the same company, managed my investments well and haven’t lost my sight of FIRE, just because I’m quiet about it.

I keep on donating to the British Red Cross on monthly basis, during the year I made my journey multiple times to St Luke’s Hospice to donate my good but not used items or those that I’ve outgrown or haven’t worn for a while, which helped me to do something good and also to keep up with decluttering.

For the future I have few ideas as well, I am planning to keep on exposing myself to the crowd more and step into the limelight and set up a Youtube channel, where you can keep following me. The real struggle is to keep on entartain you and also to write about useful things in the same time and of course the ongoing battle with social media which I tried to avoid on purpose most times, that manifested in a more or less abandoned Instagram page, but I haven’t forgot about it just yet and promise I will be more active on that part as well.

The future is bright and minimal ahead of us all.

Your sincerely
