Document digitalization

Document digitalization

In my path towards to a clutter free better world, I faced a major obstacle, let’s put it straightforward, when I was cleaning recently my tiny studio I faced with tons of documents, letters, papers that once I found important enough to keep them.

Started to select the no longer important documents first, you know from the couple of years old sketches for uni assignments to the many years old bank statements and even though most of them I wanted to keep, but in the same time I also wanted to get rid of them. So here’s coming into the picture of the digitalization, making pictures of the documents that really don’t need to have physical copy of anymore.

Managed to reduce the dozens of papers, notes and letters of 3 full boxes by getting rid of them and digitalizing the semi important pieces, placed them just in case in the cloud to be able to have access to them if any of them would be required for anything and have only 1 box of documents left. I guess I started to getting used to a more minimalist lifestyle but still feel kind of bad watching those YouTube videos with absolutely clutter free homes, lads with literally 100 items including their underwear, socks and chargers, yeah compared to them I am far far behind. Nothing to worry about, gonna catch up you all, step by step, eyes on the prize.

So I am about to reach the goal of having maximum of 1 shoe box of important documents, just the ones that are totally necessary to keep such as Passport, ID cards, P60’s, P45’s, Medical history, paper statements of my broker, HMRC conversation and of course student finance and uni documentations.

One box of documents remained, I’m missing the books from the picture though.

I still have some notes, notebooks to declutter and reorganise/digitalize but I’m on the track already and definitely recommend to have a look at your things, with each useless paper, with each not anymore important document less, you are going to feel a bit better, more spacious in your home. I’m sure you all know what I’m talking about. Digitalization a great tool to get rid of most of these unwanted documents, but it’s not enough, you need to make time to reorganize those documents in your compute, place them into cloud or to an external HDD. The key is the organisation.

I wish you all strength and patience to go through that process, but once you’re done and got rid of the surprisingly lots of paper, digitalize them and you are going to feel much much better, much more organised and after all just keep up with the good habit and do not start to collect these unnecessary papers in the 21st century, trust me its not cool.

Your Sincerely

To/Minimal
