Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas to all of you my dear readers. Nothing much to say this time really, hope you are all found the meaning of Christmas and sharing happiness and joy with all of your loved ones.
Since I started my journey towards minimalism actually Christmas was a vocal point in terms of anxiety, weird mix of feeling forcefully happy and also giving, I always felt that consumerism took the spirit out of the festive season and actually it did, regardless of what the society thinks about this day, instead of spending hundreds of pounds for weird clothes, gadgets, kitchen appliances I spent my time with the people I love, I admire, my family. I gave them something so so special, so unique no one ever will be able to get back, my time. Don’t let this festive period to be about material goods, we can’t take them with us, instead about memories and joy.
Just for the sake of my belief, I also purchased a tiny Christmas tree, a live tree in a proper plant pot, the plan is to move it outside in March, save a bit of Christmas spirit with it for sure, and adding a bit more nature too in the same time, I think this is what we can call a win-win situation.
This little tree will be planted outside soon, won’t end up in the bin.
I shared great drinks in the pasts days with family, gave useful gifts and were content with it strictly with the no waste policy, to be exact I supported my loved ones’ new project with money and gave super cute plants and underwear/socks because I was 100% sure it won’t end up being donated to someone else or thrown out after the festive.
Just to move back to the main topic, all I wanted to say is, I hope you realise that your time is invaluable, precious and unique, share it with the people that are unique for you. This is what Christmas is all about, sharing love and joy with people you love.
“The best Christmas gift is to realise how much you already have.”
Merry Christmas
Your sincerely
